Karl Borgschulze has comprehensive expertise in international sustainability management and more than 25 years of experience in the textile industry, as well as in the ecological optimisation of value chains. He is the Managing Director of Systain Consulting Asia, where he is in charge of the strategic alignment and sustainable optimisation of production chains in the textile industry both in European and Asian procurement markets.

Karl has been involved in the development of a number of ecological standards such as Pure Wear, bioRe and the IVN and has been a member of the scientific advisory council of the German DTNW textiles research centre in Krefeld.

As well as advising Heroes2 on supply chain matters Karl has global involvement in a number of sustainability projects, including the advocacy of organic cotton. In addition to his project work, Karl is a sought-after speaker on the topic of CSR and sustainability.
