KiK Pledges To A New Year Of Planting

Management from German textile chain visits Heroes2 reforestation site

Having already planted 5,000 trees with Heroes2 last year, KiK has committed to another 5,000 trees for 2011. The textile chain’s Sustainable Chain Supply Advisor, Mr. Karl Borgschulze, and Director General Corporate Social Responsibility, Ms. Petra Katzenberger, attended an officiating ceremony at our Lashi Village reforestation site to kick off this year’s planting.

“We are very happy to be working with Heroes2 once again this year.”Mr. Borgschulze commented.“We want more than just a carbon offset programme, and Heroes2 was able to deliver this with their philosophy of engaging communities.”

Our reforestation project isnot only improving the environment, but also creating employment opportunities for local villagers, who can now care for their families and earn an income near home instead of looking for work in the city.
